At the time of writing this, the UK in on lockdown because of Coronavirus, and that’s the only reason that I’m able to find time to put this blog together! My little business is taking a significant hit in enquiries (but then, having spoken to my other wedding friends, it’s the same for everybody). It’s a time to be grateful for what you have, which for me is health, family and most recently an email from SLR Lounge letting me know that I’m in their list of 100 Best Wedding Photographers in the UK for 2020.

I haven’t heard from SLR Lounge since they dropped their wedding photography awards (some time back in 2019), but it was a fantastic surprise to receive the email and hear of the good news! And thanks to having a name which starts with “AA”, my name appears top of the list! 🙂

Their method for selection was in-depth, and they went through the trouble of listing out the steps which they took to compile the list:

Step 1: Compiling multiple lists of award-winners, instructors, and industry leaders from a variety of respected sources.
Step 2: Put the lists through a formula to find the reoccurring names.
Step 3: The long process of reviewing each portfolio for the following characteristics: uniqueness and creativity, artistry and vision, timing and emotion & consistency.
Step 4: Comparison of each portfolio again and to continued to eliminate until the list even further.

Being a little OCD, I’ve kept a record of each of the 15 awards I’ve won with SLR Lounge. 15 Photos that I’m incredibly proud to have taken!
