Emma & Nick’s wedding was my last for 2018. They chose Kingston Country Courtyard in Dorset to get married, and although Mother Nature refused to co-operate it was a beautiful day. I don’t usually shoot winter weddings but this one was special. I was asked by Paul Mockford (who attended as a guest) if I could help out and after a little persuading I was onboard.
I’m so pleased for my wonderful couple to have picked up this WPJA Award in the penultimate collection of the year. This picture was taken during the Father of the Brides’ speeches. Emma’s dad was explaining his secrets to achieving a successful marriage 🙂
I like to think that I make my own luck by being in the right place at the right time / with the correct camera and lens + setting already dialled in. It’s incredibly hard to predict moments like this but weddings are full of these incredible opportunities.
This was another amazing set of winning photos from the WPJA that I’m very proud to be a part of, a massive congrats to all the winners and my thanks as always to the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
